Three days in San Francisco, from Alcatraz to the Golden Gate Bridge, then into the Sierra Nevada. Three nights at Mariposa for Yosemite: El Capitan, Half Dome and the waterfalls of the valley. In summer Tioga Pass takes you over the mountains to Mammoth Lakes and the tufa towers of Mono Lake, and down into Death Valley, the lowest and hottest place in North America. The trip ends among the lights of the Las Vegas Strip. From the coast of California to the desert in twelve days.
