The trip in short
Three days in New York, from Central Park to Times Square, then north up the Hudson Valley, with its mansions, farms and the town of Hudson. Ithaca lies among gorges and waterfalls at the tip of Cayuga Lake, in the Finger Lakes wine country. At Niagara Falls the Maid of the Mist sails into the spray, and Corning's Museum of Glass is on the way back to the city. Lovely in October: one of the autumn trips in the Northeast.
