The trip in short
Salt Lake City hosted the 2002 Winter Olympics, and its mountains are close. Four nights in Park City, the largest ski resort in the US; three at Alta, up Little Cottonwood Canyon, where Utah's deepest powder falls and only skiers are allowed. Then north to Jackson Hole, below Grand Teton, for its steeps and Corbet's Couloir. For good skiers, among the ski trips; more resorts, closer together: skiing in Colorado.
